The Three Common Materials
EPDM rubber is flexible and puncture-resistant, the most common choice for irregular pond shapes. HDPE is tougher and more UV-stable but less flexible. PVC is the cheapest but tends to degrade faster in direct sun.
A Sizing Rule
Liner size needs to account for length, width, maximum depth twice over, plus overlap for anchoring at the edges, not just the pond’s flat footprint.
